Why screenshots help

A screenshot lets ScamStop read the full conversation, link, or payment proof exactly as you saw it - leading to a more accurate result.

iPhone

iPhone X and newer (no home button)

  1. Open the chat

    Open the message, deal, or page you want to capture.

  2. Side + Volume Up

    Press the Side button and Volume Up button at the same time, then quickly let go.

  3. ✓ Saved

    Saved to Photos

    A small preview appears in the bottom-left. Tap it to edit, or swipe it away to save.

Older iPhones with a Home button: press the Home button + Side button instead.

Android

Most Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Huawei phones

  1. Open the chat

    Open the message, deal, or page you want to capture.

  2. Power + Volume Down

    Press the Power button and Volume Down button at the same time, then let go.

  3. ✓ Saved

    Saved to Gallery

    The screenshot appears as a small preview, then saves to Photos or Gallery.

On some Samsung phones you can also swipe the side of your hand across the screen.

Mac

macOS - any model

    Hold Shift + Command + 4 on the keyboard.

    Drag a box around the part of the screen you want to capture.

    Let go - the screenshot saves to your Desktop automatically.

To capture the entire screen instead, press Shift + Command + 3.

Windows

Windows 10 and 11

  1. +Shift+S

    Hold the Windows key + Shift + S on the keyboard.

    The screen dims. Drag a box around the part you want to capture.

  3. Snip saved

    Click the notification in the corner to save it, or paste it into ScamStop.

The Print Screen (PrtScn) key copies the whole screen so you can paste it anywhere.
